Neck angle to Body is a very critical angle, for a nice action it needs to be accurate to 0.5 of a mm

When resetting  a guitar neck, there are two components, the neck angle and the locking method of the neck, both are different, we are talking and dealing with neck angle in this tute.

Time to repair approx 3 hrs
Made a new fretboard, made some new inlays and then strung it up to be able to now do this tutorial.
First, the neck truss rod needs to be adjusted so we have a straight flat neck
We then slide the steel ruler along the frets to see were it contacts the bridge, the red dot indicates, it is hitting about 2mm below the top surface.
Measuring our action height at the 12th fret, we have 120 thou, or approx. 3.04mm string clearance above the fret
So what do we need to do, we need to take the neck and rotate it slightly down, in doing so, we lower the string height at the 12th as per this drawing.
How much to rotate the neck is calculated with this formula, this will get us close, we fine tweak it with our eyes / rulers and sandpaper
Lay a ruler across the top of the guitar and check its scale length, that is the distance from the nut to 12th and the bridge
An early 1960's guitar in need of a neck adjustment
They do not always come in as per above, that guitar started with us like this
Re-Attached it to the body, inlayed some carbon fibre strips to the neck
At the 12th we have 314mm
