Heel Caps are generally seen on expensive guitars, they are used as a decorative finish to the heel area.
When someone has damaged a guitar in the heel area, the use of a Heel cap can be very time saving and an aesthetically pleasing option rather than attempting to hide the damage with refinishing work
Time to repair approx 2 hrs over 2 days (glue drying times)

Unfortunatley the person who fitted the strap button did not take into consideration the correct hole size to pre drill it with and subsequently the heel has cracked.
Clamp and glue for 24 hrs
After 24hrs, we are ready to start the Heel cap manufacturing
With a flat surface, I am just using a new bridge here, attach some 220 grit sandpaper
Smooth sand the heel, so all finish is removed and it is flat.
Like so.

We apply masking tape to the surface
And do a tracing

The strap button is installed in the heel itself.
So we have to repair the crack, we achieve this by opening the crack further up and injecting titebond glue
Some pickguard material to match the existing binding
