Guitars take damage, if the finish is an acrylic / polyester or Ultra Violet finish, then you can repair the surface with Superglue rather than mixing new paint up. Nitro finish IMO should always be finished with Nitro.
This guitar has taken a hit to the top, the customer wants it to be gone.
Time to repair approx 2 hrs over 1 day (superglue drying times)
Up close, you can see its taken a hit into the top.
We could respray this in Ultra Violet finish, but Superglue is the better choice as Ultra Violet Painting requires high intensity light, which generates a lot of heat and that in turn can damage glues and binding.
320 Grit sandpaper
Rough sand the high spots of the damage
Extend the sanding into the divot to remove any edges which can reflect the light in the final repair.
Sanded down to the base.
Standard superglue
Build it up in layers, allowing drying between the layers.
Until its above the original surface.
Nice Taylor, from a distance it looks perfect.
Rear view.
To prevent damage to the rest of the guitar, I cover it in low tack tape.
Removing the tape, we can see how much build up has been created.
