Bridges are made for many reasons, you may have an existing bridge which has snapped or you may be building a guitar.
This guitar has an existing bridge but it has snapped at the saddle and pin area, many reasons exist for this to happen from choice of woods, to selection of grain runout to poor design. Either way we are replacing and upgrading this bridge
Time to repair approx 2 hrs over 2 days (glue drying times)
Start with removing, pins, saddle, strings, electronics.
Once the bridge is removed, we clean the top of any glues / wood debris.
The old bridge has definetly shattered.
I need the old bridge for a template so we glue it back together and allow to sit overnight
Next day we assess the profile of the bridge
The wings go to approx 30mm inwards
The saddle slot is 3mm
One nice piece of raw rosewood.
This Ibanez has a shattered bridge.
It has broken through the saddle slot and the pin holes
We remove the bridge as per attached link
The existing bridge is 8.68mm thick
