Saddle slots need to be lowered or levelled on the odd ocasion, it could be becuase the base of the saddle slot has warped or you are fitting electronics into the guitar.
This guitar has had an aftermarket electronics system fitted, they did a really good job IMO, but the saddle slot was not lowered to accomodate for the ribbon pickup, as such the saddle sits to high in the slot and runs the risk of snapping the bridge.
Time to repair approx 1 hr
The saddle sits really high in the slot, risk of snapping the front of the bridge off is extremely high.
Remove strings and saddle, protect the top from damage.
New electronics removed
Ribbon disconnected from pre-amp.
Draw the ribbon up through the bridge hole.
These are called saddle files, they have cutting edges only on the top and bottom, the sides are smooth.
We find the best width saddle file that fits the slot.
Start with knowing how high the bridge itself is.
Nice Classical Guitar.
Aftermarket system already fitted.
Here is the installed ribbon which is causing the problem.
7.52mm tall.
