Some manufacturers make an adjustable bridge that sits in a metal frame, these bridges can be very heavy and affect the tone of a guitar

Typically a bridge conversion is carried out to alter this situation, I find a well fitted insert is just as clean and tidy, also it is reversible

Time to repair approx 1 hr
We start by lifting the saddle and pins of the instrument
The removed assembly weighs 23.7grams
So we start with just a piece of rosewood rough shaped
Measurements from our insert are needed
Width as well
New saddle width also needed
We start the job by routing a slot big enough for the saddle to fit into

You can do this with an over head router or bench router.

You can also leave this process until last if you wish
Standard of the shelf compensated saddle
Nice old Fender Acoustic
Metal Insert and saddle fitted to bridge
Here is a standard saddle sitting in the void.
Fit it into the slot to provide strength to our piece of wood.
