Until the fretboard is finally profile shaped.
Time to achieve this is less than 2 minutes
To cut our fretslots, we use a template jig, these can be made from local laser cutters or purchased from companys such as LMII or Stewmac.
The edges of the template jig are notched with the exact fret spacing of the desired scale length, in this instance I am cutting a fender 25.5 inch scale.
Again double sided tape
Fretboard stuck in place, centred as good as visually possible.
Using a slide saw fited with a 20 thou blade
The base of the saw has a small pin fitted which locates into our jig.
As so.
Slowly removing the marks, we can tweak the end heights to allow even grinding
Here we are adjusting the wheel to lower the fretboard a little closer.
Remove fretboard
We slide and cut
Belt sander on and swing the arm back and forth.
Repeat down the board
On this one I am cutting 20 fret slots and the nut location.
Remove fretboard and its ready to be fitted to the guitar.
