We clamp the neck in place.
Power up and draw the router through the neck.
One channel cut.
Repeat for opposite side.
Having removed guitar from jig, we can now clean the splines of dust.
Using a piece of hard rock maple, we thin it down to fit into the channels.
Then the thinned wood is shaped to the same profile created by our router jig.
Time to glue, we need clamps, wood, glue.
After 24 hrs dry time, remove clamp and caul.
This is our splining sled, the router is offset in the hand piece and the sled is made from a piece of U shaped aluminium
Align the headstock, so it sits evenly in the jig.
With everything in place, we clamp and glue.
Let the guitar sit for 24hrs so the wood glue can dry
