Not all Necks and sockets are made to suit, occasionally you need to tweak the relationship to be able to set the guitar up to play well, this means raising the neck or lowering the neck and or changing the angle of the neck.

The owner of this guitar made his own neck, unfortunatley the action is incredibly high. we need to make a shim to allow the two to be compatible with each other

Time to repair approx 1 hr
Yet we have a very very high action..
Loosen but dont remove the strings.
Removing neck bolts we take the neck off.
With just some scrap wood we are going to see what is needed to get the neck angle correct
I glue it into the front of the pocket
Annotate my measurement as I will forget
Some wood for the back of the socket
Again annotate measurements.
Hand made customers guitar.
The saddles currently are wound down to the bottom of their travel.
Measuring that action, we have in excess of 140 thou string clearance above the fret at the 12th fret
Screw the neck back on and tune to pitch.
