Pass the rosewood through the mini router to trim it to an even height and width.
The mini router has a small knob, which allows fine tuning the thickness of the cuts.
Ready to pass the wood and binding through the router
Super fine bits of black plastic, easily .1mm thick.
Measuring the wood, it comes up at 7.95mm
Wood and black binding = 8.40mm, so we have black binding .45mm thick, we need .34mm, I will tweak the thickness at completion, this is close enough 0.09mm difference
I remove the black binding from the wood and pair it up to some thicker white binding.
Using a ptfe sprung caul, I clamp the two pieces together
Up close of the cutter
To accuartley thickness the binding we need to attach it to something firm, so I cut a piece of rosewood on the bandsaw..
Using some clips I glue some black binding onto the wood and allow to dry overnight.
Dip a cotton but into some acetone and brush it onto the binding
P2
To trim the binding we have a dedicated router jig, with a small cutter fitted
Draw the binding through the ptfe caul.

The acetone will melt them together

Glue the black and white binding back onto my rosewood strip.
