And slice a piece of spruce of the end of some wood
When happy with the fit, apply plenty of wood glue.
Glue splint into place.
Allow to dry for 24hrs, then shave excess wood away with a razor blade.
Like so.
Sand the area smooth and flush.
Using some shellac and a bit of colour matching we finish the job.
Some throat clamps through the soundhole put pressure on the two plates.
Using a table saw, I tilt the blade .5 of a degree

Externally we have a flat plate with two magnets which match up to the magnets in the bottom caul, this allows us to align the cleat neatly with the crack.
With sandpaper we shape that piece of Vee cut spruce to fit our crack.
