Using a bench router with a vee bit fitted, we profile cut the edges.
Using a small hole saw, we cut access to the pickup area,
Then using a straight router bit trim the rest away.
Seperate the pickguard from the mdf sheet
Test fit pickguard
Mounting holes need to be recessed, so just a countersinking tool is required
I countersink until the bottom white section shows.
Drill hole for pickguard screw.
Couple of small revisions after discussion with customer.
Using double sided tape, we apply the mdf template to a piece of white/black/white pickguard material.
As per making the mdf template, sand and smooth to shape
This will leave a Veed edge
Fit new screw
Fit mdf template to guitar.
Repeat for the whole pickguard
Remove the pickguard, time to make the edges smooth.
Using 1000 grit sandpaper we lightly sand the perimeter to remove any plastic swarf
Refit and string up.
Job done
