Cleaned and cut.
First we make a backup ring, simple cutting and sha.ping
Then we make a spacer ring, this reduces the 5mm depth of the wood section to 2.5mm for a cover plate to be added later
Using titebond, we glue the two inserts together
I use some pins for alignment.
Plain clothes pegs are more than sufficent for the clamping.
After 24hrs dry time, we are ready to fit the insert.
Using some clamps and titebond, we pull the inner frame into place.
Remove insert and air clean
With some 220 grit sandpaper, I clean the inner edge.
Mahogany strips for making inner frame work.
Wipe any excess glue squeeze out with a wet cloth.
Last pass, insert will drop away
24hrs dry time again, remove clamps.
