This guitar needs a fret level, so we will take care of that before continuing, attached link.
The fine tuners on this trem are all over the place.
So we adjust them all to a neutral position.
Insert the Trem back into the body
Attach the centre spring back into place.
With the new strings, snip the ball end off.
At the back of the trem are located some allen keys, these are used to push the square block in the saddle tight onto the string. Loosen all 6 screws off.
Insert the cut string between the block of steel and saddle groove, tighten the allen key firmly to pinch the string between the two surfaces.
Guitar now De-strung and Trem unit removed
For the setup, we will need access to the Truss rod adjustor, remove any cover plates if they are fitted.
Having fret Levelled the guitar vee above link, I start with a straight neck, adjust the truss rod so you have no rock of a flat bar resting over the frets.
Snip the other end of the string to approx 1 - 2 tuners past the machine head you need
Remove the whole Trem unit through the top of the guitar.
Before we start winding the string on, this is what the trem looks like in relation to the body.
Manually wind the string on.
