Just have to weld the end pieces together, I wrap the end in a wet rag so as to not melt my heatshrink away.
Remove and test the truss rod one way
And then the other way
Finished, and lined up against an off the shelf unit.
The assembly comes in at 9.4mm total thickness, so thats 1.1mm thinner than the commercial unit, so that equates to 1.1mm of wood that I can leave in the neck area and not remove.
Does not sound like a lot, but the total neck thickness around a guitars nut is in the 16-17mm thickness range, so every mm counts.
I mark the end of my Trussrod in relation to my fretboard mark.
Check my fitted length.
Once trimmed again with an angle grinder, I fit some heatshrink to my round bar to stop any rattles from occuring.
As so.
