Specialty cutter, cuts my spruce and puts a hole in the center
Draw it in place
Apply tension
After 24hrs, we remove and start finish work.
Using a scraper, remove the excess paint and rough the surface out
Like so
Follow up sand with 220 grit
Surface repaired, ready for paint
After 24hrs, we remove the machine head
The inside of the hole needs to be patched, so we use some spruce
Again, same process as before we thread the spruce onto our string and tie off on to a brass block.
Shellac the repaired area
And wind the string on, apply light tension just like tuning your guitar.
2 coats later, we lightly sand
