Fitting a Bone Nut
P4
With a string gauge, we place it over the string and let it rest, click zero

If you dont have a gauge, you can use a piece of A4 paper, it should slip between the string and first fret
You want to restring the guitar with the correct gauge strings you intend to use
Different Guitar - Sorry was asked too many questions, so I have used another guitar to finish tute

Capo the strings between the 2nd and 3rd frets
Pushing the gauge down, we push the string onto the fret, the gauge measures the travel of the string, in this instance its 23 thou above the fret.

Ideally we want 5 thou, so we will repeat and file until we get 5 thou.
After slotting to height, we need to trim the outside edges so they are smooth to the touch.
I remove the nut and use a hand sander to square the edges and knock the bulk down
Further sanding on the guita is achieved by pushing the nut out one side and slowly sand the edge down.
